People are going to cringe when I say this but I've run across that and I
just wrap some really thick solderwick around the tip of my Weller Soldering
*gun*  Let it get good and hot then quickly wipe the board with it.
( the tip of the gun wrapped with solderwick that is ).  i

Anyone who worked on old CB radios can attest to how much solder they liked
to use to do things like hold on shields and grounds... was insane.
Might still be insane but I havent touched a CB in almost a decade now...

Its a little electric pot ( think dixie-cup sized crockpot ) that heats and
holds molten solder.  Usually used as Fondue dip by oldtimers.
