The original submodule was gone by the time I got it in 83. I assume the 
original was a 4012 since I believe it was built in 75. 

I want to put a good DC coupled ladder VCF in there, but after looking at the 
schematics on the old ARPTech site, I've realized it's WAY beyond my 
abilities to discern where any problems might be (lots of matching including matched 
JFETs etc.). 

After getting a few different ladder VCFs and schematics, and looking at them 
(all AC coupled) I had thought about biting the bullet and buying one of Phil 
C's Blue Meanies ($250 submodule) -- now I've heard he's almost impossible to 
get a hold of.

I'm open to suggestions,
