Actually this applies to all electronic equipment that don't run grounds
between them via an alternate path. Wall warts are a mojor problem here - no
earth. The devices in question can jack themselves up to entirely different
voltages, so that when you plug one into the other - ZAP. I have repaired
units where this has happened.
