Julian,

Weren't they vacumm-formed plastic?  You could try a local school as they
might have a suitable machine in their workshops.

Alternatively, with a bit ingenuity you can mold Acrylic (Perspex) over a
wooden form if you have an oven and don't mind it smelling of plastic for
a few days after!!
