My fianceé is an illustrator and in design too but 
  I'm still having a hard time to win her over to 
see the beauty of old gear and except that those 
"ugly old big boxes" are an important part of 
cultural history and simply important to me.
But she started to comment on panel design, knobs 
etc.
So babystep by babystep - maybe one time...
