How about Shark version of EZkit?
It has ADSP21062 onboard AFAIR, real debugger, some audio
processing examples (including reverb - I heard it on AD seminar
one day) and cost about 300$.
There's also new thing for Blackfin DSPs also from Analog Devices.

ADSP2181 used in EZ-lite is old stuff, OTOH you may find
more synth related examples on the web than for floating-point
processors. Simply because it was one of the first so cheap
packages.
