Technical correction #2: That's bitrate of a jumbo filled with DAT-tapes.

Bandwidth doesn't mean what you think it means. It _ONLY_ means the number of
Hertz between the upper and lower -3dB points of a frequency band.

Bandwidth in the sense of rate of information transfer is really bit-rate, i.e.
the number of bits transfered per second - properly written b/s (and not bps).

Well, the sweets is there (when in Budapest last week I bougth hungarian honey
to top my toast with, now I only got to buy a new toaster since the last one
caugth fire and has been ruled out as unsafe by others in the family) and I
have already pointed it out, so something HAS to happend. However, don't
expect the silver bullet or magic drinks or whatever, there are not there.

Just a quick mapping of things over Ethernet but basically use it almost as we
do today would work, but that would not work since people would not be able to
stay away from saturation since the capacity is there. This is really one of
the golden rules of networking:

Whatever capacity you make available, it will be filled.

Yeah...

You don't want to know just how much money gets tossed in the sea by
missapplying technologies. If I could only get a percent of it I would be a
very wealthy man, which I am not.

Cheers,
Magnus - who would love to learn a decent way to make big bucks out of stupidity
