[sdiy] Stereo to Mono Amp Question?

Hi Cynthia,
Connecting the inputs together would be OK, but connecting
the outputs together would likely blow the amplifier. In a
mono application you have two choices; just use one channel
of the amplifier, or bridge it.
If 20 watts is plenty for you, then just use one channel.
For up to 4X the power (depending on power supply
capacity), bridge the amplifier. To bridge any amp, connect
the input signal to one channel input. At the same time,
send the same input signal through an inverter circuit and
connect the inverted signal to the other amplifier input.
Connect the speaker across the two output terminals (DO NOT
connect either speaker lead to ground). That's all there is
too it.
Take care,
Doug
