I've used polystyrene in the VCF and in the VCO (the 2.2nF one).
Also I put them into the noise-generator filter network, but I must admit
that i don't expect any improvement here (it just looks better).
I did the same with the 100pf cap in the VCO sync ciruit. I had old 100pf
polys in my junkbox and recycled them, but I think any cheap ceramic will
behave as good as the polystyrene cap.
Btw, if I'm not mistaken ceramics around 100pf aren't that bad at all. I've
read somewhere that just the big multilayer ceramics behave so bad.
