[sdiy] Imperfect VCO

In the VCO vote thread someone mentioned "imperfect VCOs"
which exhibit among other things, reset ringing and
waveshape change as one moves through the pitch range. I
think this is a feature of natural instruments as well. I
like this idea.
It got me thinking if anyone has built VC waveshapers that
do this sort of thing to a "perfect" VCO?
Questions arise such as does the frequency of the ringing
imperfection change with the VCO frequency? If not, an LC
circuit or gyrator could add this, it might be made voltage
controlled with FET? A VC nonlinear circuit could be used
to modify a saw or tri slope.
An "Imperfectionizer"...
Any schematics? Ideas?
Thanks all.
