I'm not sure who might have bought it, but the original BeOS is "dead" for
all practical purposes. I think there might still be a version for download
somewhere, but it won't be supported by anyone any more. (If I understand
and remember correctly.)

There is an open-source movement to make an open-source variant (or a
clone) of BeOS. If anyone is interested, you can read here:

This is getting off-topic, unless you can put OpenBeOS into an embedded
system, and make a hardware synth using it. Now that I said that, I wonder
if you could?
