And learn how to program _properly_, and not rely on nasty hacks which
UNIX will trample on.

That, and Steinberg only document _just_enough_ to write VSTs, but not to
write VST hosts (one of the reasons Emagic dropped VST support from Logic
and switched to Audio Units for the OSX version, even though VST has been
ported to OSX).
Also, remember that VSTs sit _on_top_ of a host (such as *cough* Cubase
*cough*) which itself sits on top of the OS. In contrast, Audio Units sit
_below_ the host (such as Logic) which communictes with the OS to manage
plugins. Add the robustness of a UNIX kernel and the world is a happier,
more stable, environment.
The Mac sure is looking like a fun place for audio.
Cheers,
Neil
(Note: I do _not_ want to start a Mac vs. PC war, its just far too silly.
And anyway, I run both platforms as I believe each has their strengths
and weaknesses. I don't have time for silly religious debates, I'd much
rather be building synthesizers!!)
