Yah, I've done similar -- made MIDI couplers, extension cords, switchers & 
cables;
some folks, however, would rather get them ready-made.

Guess it's a matter of preference;  kind of like the folks who'll spend 
forever working on hardware, but would rather pull their own heads off than 
write software (or vice versa).

Different streaks for different freaks...
