Yo,

I used the ISD1000 to make a doorbell for holloween.
You can imagine what I had recorded... It was easy to
use.

The bandwidth is a bit limited; 8KHz sampling means
<4K bandwidth.  But if you can live with that, then
you have a somewhat cheap sampler!
