I think you have 3 options available:

1). Stow away in the cargo hold of a ship bound for the UK. If you set off
now you might just make it.
2). Use your electronics knowledge to build a teleportation device (making
sure no flies are around when you use it).
3). Try and get a flight at the very last minute as usually any seats that
are left become dirt cheap.
