Hey all,
This is why I insist on accurate test gear. I just got
my frequency counter in the mail today. To test it out
I hooked up my 440Hz generator which divides down a
5.0688MHz clock to generate several octaves of A's.
Well, guess what: the 440Hz output came up 437.5Hz.
Now that is only 0.57% error, but it means that my
Xilinx design is dividing by 181 instead of 180. This
level of error was unmeasureable on my old counter or
my scope. Now I have confidence that my little gennie
design is the right frequency.
Now I get to test the TOG designs...
