-Double recorders (duno the official names, medieval stuff)
-Bagpipes
-Asian "mouth organs" like the Chinese Sheng
and various variations to these themes.

IMO mono-phonic instruments have their place, in a ensemble.
Even if it are just two, the boredom of playing monophonic can already be
broken.
