I've been using the Molex KK 0.1" pitch connectors for
years with very few problems.  A surprising amount of 
pro audio equipment uses these connectors.  There 
are white and brown versions - use the brown ones - the 
white ones are cheaper and not gold plated.  The only
problems I've encountered with these have turned out
to be the result of bad crimps or unsuitable wire...
