Actually *some* rubber contacts can be cleaned with alcohol, but I have
actually seen some rubber contacts that were definitely made *worse* by the
application of alcohol. These were in a Rodgers organ, which would have
almost certainly used a keyboard assembly from Roland. So, I would expect
some of the Roland products to behave the same.

Pure water is a much safer liquid. Compressed air is also safe. Replacement
is sometimes the only sure repair, unfortunately.

I haven't yet tried any of the special products that claim to restore the
carbon pads of such contacts. I can't vouch for them, but especially if a
particular keyboard no longer has new parts available, perhaps it's worth a
shot.
