What Does it Sound Like?[WAS]Re: [sdiy] Wakeman

	Musicians, as a group, seem to be a rather conservative bunch...it 
seems that they are not interested in new sounds, unless somebody else 
has a big hit with one...

	I ran into this not long ago in trying to find some local people 
(guitarists) to try a distortion effect I had an idea for...the reaction 
I got was "Does it sound like a ??? or a ???"....when I replied that I 
hoped it didn't sound like anything else, interest seemed to disapear at 
once...

	But, I suppose we see this all over...when something is a big success, 
no matter what it is, everybody will beat it to death until it becomes 
mundane.
