That's exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. These are all 
modular(ish) processes too, and there's very little software that allows 
them to be used in a modular kind of way.

That's true too. It's not that I'm against analogue techniques, I just 
think there doesn't seem to be a lot of awareness among some analogue 
builders and users that there's a huge world of other synthesis and 
processing techniques out there that have very different possibilities.

The fantastic thing about something like Reaktor is that it's so damn easy 
to make really creative, original patches. Because you're not limited to a 
fixed number of modules, you can do things like build custom gated filter 
banks and chorus units with twenty different multi-tap delays in them. Part 
of the problem with hardware analogue is that after a while really 
interesting ideas become too expensive to implement.
