[sdiy] Pots: cermet vs. plastic

Hi folks.

Can someone point me to a document explaining the difference
between cermet and conductive plastic ? I've noticed that some
Spectrol models have both plastic and cermet versions and, though
they cost about the same, I'm sure there are differences. Are
there reasons to choose one over another in synth applications ?
