I am attempting to get my midi2cv converter working. I
wanted to verify the bytes going across the midi link,
so I downloaded 2 different midi monitor programs.
Both suggested that all key messages were preceded
with a $90, or Note On. But I remembered seeing with
the scope that the Note Offs were actually 2 byte
messages. You folks on the list informed me of the
whole running status thing. So I got the scope out,
and lo! the note offs are using running status.

So both monitor programs are lying when they say they
are receiving $90 for the Note Off messages.

Be warned.
