There's a lot of useful stuff and information at:
http://www.megauk.com/
(look under "signs, panels & labels")
I've used the Quick Laser film for panels. It's available
through Rapid Electronics in the UK. It's a laser printable
metallised plastic film, which and be over laminated with
a special (?) clear plastic so the printing doesn't rub off.
The main difficulty I've had is alignment. You need to drill
and cut the panel before applying the film, or swarf etc builds
up between the film and the panel. OTOH, the film is cheap
enough that you can afford to have another go if it goes wrong.
Also, put a plain washer under the nuts of pots and jacks or
the film will ruck up when you tighten the nut.
It's also available in other colours, so if you want a bright
yellow for a Wasp VCF...
