[sdiy] onwards to...more questions

i'm starting my first project to get my soldering skills more finely honed
(the tweak-o FX pedal because it's simple, has easy for me to follow instructions
etc.) and i was wondering if i really need push-in terminals for all my connections.
i was wondering if some of the other guys on the list who use perf-board
might be able to shed some light on this. so far i've heard 'no' from various
engineers, but none who work in audio/synthesis.

secondly, the schematic calls for a .001 mfd poly-film OR mylar capacitor
which is discontinued by radioshack, so i am replacing it with a .001 mfd
ceramic capacitor. is this ok?

thanks in advance everyone!
