[sdiy] resistor sizes?

 Hi all, I have a newb question for you. I just got in the mail a wonderful board from Ken Stone. Very excited about making it. Anyway, When looking through resistors that I have lying around I found that some are larger, and others are smaller. Tey may be the same value, but just bigger in size. It looks like the smaller size is the one to use on the Gated Comparator board. What is the difference in size?
