I havn't noticed any fumes from ammonium persulphate.
You wouldn't want to inhale the powder itself (but, it comes
granulated like sugar, so there is no danger of this).

The worst thing about ferric chloride, for me, was that it 
stains 'stainless' steel sinks. Permanently. Might be the 
start of a grat new art medium, or might be the end of a 
domestic relationship ;D
