[sdiy] Sources for bulk shielded cable?

I can certainly understand economy in all things. I am one who also
looks for alternative sources to control costs. However, I would not say
that cables are one of them.

I have, in years past, worked in a studio with old and/or sub standard
cables, and the frustration levels experienced there with attempting to
locate hum and intermittent connection problems is a great way to thwart
creativity in the studio. I now use only Belden cable and Switchcraft
connectors when I build my own cables. I also have a number of ProCo
cables as well. Quality here, IMO, is essential. Look for good prices on
the components, but choose good ones. Just my $.02. Best of luck with
your studio.
