[sdiy] tuning a polysynth (bit one)

hi,

i got a crumar bit one off of ebay and i am in need of some assistance.

when i got the synth in, it was horribly out of adjustment. everything
seemed as if it was set arbitrarily. with some tweeking, i was able to get
it tuned so i can use it as a mono synth or a poly synth but not both at the
same time.
if i get single notes in tune, each added voice goes further out. if i get a
basic chord seemingly in tune, single notes are awfull.

the second oscillator seems to increase pitch aprox 25 cents with each added
voice. the first oscillator instead lowers in pitch with each added voice.
(though not as far as 25 cents.)

the filters are out of adjustment too.

i've never done analog synth adjustments before so this is completely new
territory for me. i'd have it done by a pro but im having a tough time
finding one in my area (washington DC metro). so it looks like its up to me
to attempt this.

im perfectly willing to rent/borrow an oscilloscope and do this myself but i
could use some pointers on how to start. btw, are there any software
oscilloscopes that are acurate enough for this?

i've been a professional guitar tech for over 9 years and a synth addict for
5 years but i've never learned synth repair and i'd certainly like to. this
seems like the perfect time to start.

can anyone offer me some suggestions, links, resources, advice, etc. on how
to adjust this synth?

thanks,
-ugo
