[sdiy] OT: extreme DIY

It was interesting to read that they polished the mirror in the Mount 
Palomar Observatory telescope right here in my area.
The 200 inch one-peice glass parabolic mirror in that telescope is NOT 
something that is easy to just lift out and send someplace for polishing.
