[sdiy] Polyphonic issue revisited.

For the life of me, I cannot remember who it is, but someone on this list has
developed a TOG replacement using a PIC or AVR or something.  I believe it
turned out to be a 2 chip set.  But that's gotta be better than nothing or
trying to do it with a boatload of CMOS 4xxx.  

C'mon, whoever you are, own up!

And dang, I still have an MKS50240 that still contains it's magical spirit. 
Any of you Genie liberators want to tell us what you did that I should NEVER do?
