[sdiy] Buchla 281 Schematics: Half of circuit?

Magnus,

On the 281 schematic, it says at bottom left, '1/2 of circuit shown'.
Does this mean that the circuit as drawn is simply duplicated to complete 
the module?

And as for the 'top section' and 'bottom section':   why are they 
distinguished in this way?
