Thanks to all those who responded to my 'Quality Capacitor' question. Just found my 30 year-old ring modulator in the attic! I used transformers taken from an old Japanese radio that had a push-pull output stage. The germanium diodes were OA81's. OA91's are still available (in the UK) which should also work.
