>- what is a tempco?

A Temperature Compensation resistor. Real world parts are not perfect, so
sometimes we have to counter undesirable real-world effects with extra
parts. In this case it is to stop frequency spread in VCOs and VCFs based
around a transistor exponential converter. Don't know what that is yet? Read
the archives and study some sites such as Rene's.

>- Does a synth only run on AC or also DC, what is that excactly in synth terms?

The indards of a synth runs on DC (Direct Current). THe power supply's job
is to convert mains AC into the correct voltage DC. Some synths may be made
to work on batteries, but most simply use the AC.
The SIGNAL PATH in a synth is a different matter - bot AC and DC are
presenty, and these have nothing to do with the power supply.
