The answer is: yes. If you find a transformer that is identical to the
original one,
but with a 220V (or better 230V) winding instead. Your primary fuse should
then
have approx. 1/2 of the originale Ampere rating.
If you only find a _similar_ transformer, a lot of other things must be
taken into
consideration.
Having said this, working on safety critical parts (such as power
transformers)
should only be done if you really feel qualified to to this.
