after thinking about the diode ring modulator, i rememberred a question i was
going to ask the other day:

trigonometry demands that two sine waves into a ring mod will produce
(freq1+freq2)+(freq1-freq2) as an output signal. however, i was intrigued by Analog
Device's chips that include analog division. i've lost my old calc book and
cannot remember the sinA/sinB identity.

anyone know what an analog divider does to a signal? come to think of it,
some AD chips also have an exponent input... hmmm...

anyway, thanks for any input. pun intended.
