[sdiy] transformer question

Hello, 
I'm totally new to electronics, so sorry if i ask simple questions....
Mine question is thus: suppose you have two jupiter-8's one is 220v and the other 110v, is it possible to put the transformer for eg of the 110v in the 220v version? Or are there other electronics involved which makes this impossible?
