Well I'm pleased no-one said don't do it :) I think this may make an
interesting project whether it works or not, so thanks to all who chipped
in. I suppose if all else fails I could always use this thing to plot
resistive ink straight onto the copper and carry on with the chemicals.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Don't know if I'd want to whang something the size of a dremel around . . .
I've seen suggestions about using something like a dentists drill, they're
not much bigger than a pen and weigh next to nothing - allegedly, and if
they can cut through the enamel on yer teeth, then a bit of 4 thou copper
will hold no fear. I must confess that I'd always assumed these things were
air driven but I'm reliably informed that you can get electric ones.
Something to investigate.

Tim, the height setting problem had occurred to me as well . . .
surprisingly, I'd come up with a similar potential solution. That Heath
Robinson sure has a lot to answer for.

Once again, thanks one and all . . . back to it now, I just won a nice
cheap, chunky linear power supply on eBay :)

Happy trails . . .

Merv
