For the output transformers, i think the price they command is OK, given
the fact that they are low volume items, and that they are labour-intensive
to make. Decent output Xformers have lots of partial secondaries that are wound on the
core alternating with parts of the primary ("verschachtelte Wicklungen"), and that
is cumbersome work that must be done manually.

For the PSU Xformer, they are mostly overprized. But in every larger city there are
small Transformer makers who custom wind transformers for you. The price is usually
not cheaper, but you can have exact those voltages you want, and are not stuck with what the
manufacturer (Sowter, Welter, Hammond, etc...) thinks you will need.
