[sdiy] Analogue Sys module vs. switcher PS

Hey, guys. I've got an Analogue Systems RS-310 analog delay module
that I'm playing with. I just got it up and running with a power supply
that I put together from off-the-shelf modules. However, it's not
working
right. When the mix is turned all the way to "dry", the signal passes
through and everything is fine. However, turning the mix to "effect"
yields no delay output, just an AC hum and noise, as if the output
cable had a faulty shield.

Here's my question: The module takes +/- 12V and +5V. For the 12V,
I used a nice Condor linear power supply. However, I reasoned that the
module probably only uses +5 for logic, and so for that I used a
switcher that I had.

Does anyone think the problem is due to using the switcher for the +5?
I think the delay line itself is working, because when I turn the delay
time to the long setting, I can hear the clock signal becoming audible
(a characteristic of this unit). It's just as if the input to the delay
line wasn't connected, but the dry path is OK.
