I use the mc3403 in apps that require the LM324 and it's usually dirt cheap.
I think I paid 25 cents a piece for them last time. another good inexpensive
device is the LM348 which is supposed to be a quad 741 but seems to have
better performance in the apps where i've used it to replace 741s
