ok,ive been reading up about the capacitator in the power supply...it seems
it starts to malfunction when the oxyde starts to dissapear. It has gone in
some places, but overall its pretty much there. so thats my first biggie
mistake. but im replacing it anyway. anyone know what kind i should replace
it with?

hello again,

so i finally decided i will try and repair this baby myself, and in the
course learn a bit about the electronics involved. i opened up the bottom
and found the electrolytic cap at the power supply heavily corroded. Correct
me if im wrong but im guessing this should not be the case. it appears there
is no soldering work to be done as all i can see are banana plugs. I guiss
i´ll just have to unscrew the cap and replace it with a new one, see how
that goes.

am i right so far?

thx
