Last year, when i built a Nixie clock as a birthday present for a friend, i bought
them from Bürklin (www.buerklin.com - look for the ZM... tubes) for 12,30 Eur per
tube.
The Clock itself was an Atmel AVR 8515 processor, Voltage for the tubes is ca. 180 V from
two back-to-back connected El-Cheapo transformers, Transistors for switching the cathodes
were BC237.

OK, but think that most nixie tubes require some hard-to-find sockets. The ZM1080 i uses has
wire leads that i could simply solder to a board.
