Uh. Careful with the display then... I ruined my "ancient" (well, 22
years) digital watch by taking it apart for maintenance and suddenly the
LCD fell off those Z-plane connectors (aka "zebras"). And I just don't
have the needed steady hand for reassembling that fiddly stuff.

As your LCD needs pressure it sounds pretty much like the LCD is just
sitting loosely on the zebras.
