Don't think of it as a new space plan. Think of it as "Me space." Go into 
your bathroom. Sift your way past the PCB etching trays and look yourself 
in the mirror and say.

"Look. You know I love you an' all but I need my own personal space sometimes."

I'm sure if you really love yourself you'll be understanding.

We once lived in a place where we decided to turn the kitchen into the 
lounge room in order to make space for the studio. This worked out really well.

A) because hardly anyone ever came to visit us weirdos anyway.
B) because we spent so little time anywhere other than the studio.
C) It was easier to starve than to cook.
D) Entertaining is so much more ergonomic when you're already in the kitchen.
E) Pizza is easier than trying to make a sandwich in the space between the 
PCB etching tanks.

Of course the downside is the possibility of drinking a cup of luke warm 
ferric chloride instead of cold instant coffee as usual. Some of my guests 
have been known to complain about that but to be honest I can hardly tell 
the difference. Well not these days anyway.

But then again, I didn't have a bedroom either. I use to prefer sleeping in 
the vocal booth anyway.
