All this stuff about waveshaping has me wondering about this circuit:

I came up with it with the intention is using it a a guitar fuzz
circuit, but I found it has some unusual properties, making it useful
with other audio sources. It really gets interesting with highly
dynamic input signals, the "harmonic" content varying greatly with
amplitude. As is, there's no VC, but a simple OTA on the input could
probably be added to provide a VC harmonic control. Anyhow, it's a
pretty simple and unusual circuit, and I haven't a clue as to how it
really works. Any educated guesses?
