[sdiy] Simple discrete Unity-Gain Follower ?

Hi Michael,

My approach would be to add a couple (2 or 4) of diodes between the
bases, and add two base resistors to Vcc and Vee respectively.
The input would be at the center of your diode string.
Probably you will need to add some resistors to the emitters, to
stablilize the bias. Maybe 47 ohms would make a good start.
This is what Magnus was hinting at by saying you should move towards
class AB or even A.

Besides this, there is a section in Tietze/Schenk where quite a
collection of unity gain followers are discussed. The simplest by far
being a complementary JFET follower. I'm sure what I tried to outline
above can also be found there.

Cheers,
  René
