That's when you just ask: "Now, what do you think?".
OK. Now is the time. I have stored one up for you....
Since we are on the topic of people flukeing I happily present a case where a
guy did not really think about what pad-layout he used on the PCB where the
same as the components he ordered. Now, being in a product that we needed to
get running quickly we even had 5 PCBs in the first batch and all where needed.
Naturally to say, the physical mismatch where obvious and we got the boards
without a vital component mounted. In steps the hero who takes his 100 um
(that's 0.1 mm) wire and solder in all pins, which are just 500 um apart on all
5 boards. It looked like cheer hell:

But it worked! Well, almost, a little bit of added instability and a hooter
chip, but besides that which is to be expected... ;O)
Now, don't come and complain about a few SMB components... ;O)
My best friend who did this intends to make a site on how to actually do SMB
stuff yourself.
