I've found Acetone or denatured alcohol to all be fairly effective. They
both require though: a) a moderate amount of scrubbing, and b) use in a
*very* well ventilated room (especially the acetone). I've gotten pretty
good results from both, although to be honest I've never tried either of
them on 15 yr old flux. The best part is that you can find them both in
bulk fairly cheaply at your local hardware store.
