The thing about the EMS instruments is, the summing nodes are not op-amps
summing nodes, but resistive summers. Also the output impedance's are fairly
high.
So when you connect multiple output rows to an input row, your also
connecting the output rows to each other and anything else they connect to.
All the signals feed all over the place with relatively little isolation.
This is great for making chaotic patches and other sound effects, but more
difficult to model and not so good for traditional keyboard stuff.
Del Dettmar told me he just uses the KS keyboard as a multisegment envelope
generator or random voltage source.
